Meet Refilwe Manye who is a co-Founder of Oceans Empire sports a company that works with athletes in various stages of their sporting career which includes development, branding, marketing and management. Refilwe is also a sports scout, soccer player and a sports psychology student.
1. How did you get into Sports management – My passion and drive for sports stirred into this direction . My partner (Trevor) and I’s evaluation regarding women development in sports and athlete representation is what led us to opening a sports management company. Our understanding and involvement in the industry made it easy for us to decide on embarking on this of evolution as we call it.

Event: Writers Bloc @ Skoobs

Once a month my favourite book store Skoobs holds the writers bloc where poets come together and share their craft. I found this event on Facebook yesterday and decided to attend. I had never been to a poetry reading session before so I wasn’t sure what to expect.  It’s great to see Skoobs giving young people the platform to bring their poetry, art , music and books. The writer’s bloc was organised by Calen who circulated the bookstore welcoming everyone before the show started. The topic was DREAMS.

SunfitSA comes to Joburg

On Saturday the 1st of February Montecasino was abuzz because Sunfit has finally come to Johannesburg. Sunfit is a fitness programme started by Lisa Raleigh in Durban in 2006. It is sponsored by Crosse Blackwell trim and Liberty Medical Scheme. Sunfit offers free, yes free exercise classes which include kickboxing, zumba, yoga, cross fit and bootcamp. All the classes are taught by trained professionals. Lisa believes that fitness is right and going to the gym should be free.
Sunfit is now available in 3 cities across the country Suncoast Sundeck Durban beachfront, Southern sun the Cullinan Cape Town and of course Montecasino Piazza, Johannesburg. All the venues are sponsored by TsogoSun.
Three reasons why you should go to Sunfit:
