Book 7 of 2015

Kathryn James: Gypsy Girl

I rate this book 4 out of 5

About the book

Gypsy Girl is a story about a tough but likeable traveler girl called Sammy-Jo Smith. Every single fight competition she has ever entered, she has won. Throughout the book she fights, runs and is generally feisty, all in six inch heels. One of the reasons for all this fighting is rich boy, Gregory Langton. He is deeply in love with Sammy-Jo, even though his parents disapprove of his choice.

October
My sisters were visiting and we went out to Sway and later had an amazing joint birthday celebration. I completed the well I am challenge successfully.  I did the Spar Women’s race and improved my running time over 5 km distance. I went to Sun City as part the travel goals on my 101/1001 goal list.
November
I continued with fitness challenges as I took “A new weigh health challenge”. I wrote my first exam of my Junior Bookkeeping  course. My sister and I went to the second Jozi meetup and learned a great about blogging safely and the power of re-branding. This blogger meetup has influenced my decision to re-brand. Changes will be visible in a couple of months of course.

December
I attended a friend’s birthday dinner. Had an amazing Christmas carols night at church. We closed work for the holiday season and I went to Zimbabwe (my home country) for 2 weeks, the longest I’ve spent since leaving in 2008. Though I didn’t get to hangout with everyone that I had planned to hang out with I still had a great time, catching up with my mom and sisters. I also caught up on my summer reading.

Goal 10: Go to Sun City

As part of my 101 goals 2.0 I added travel more of the South African tourists sites. I was so thrilled when I got to complete  Goal  10. Go to Sun City. If you’ve watched Adam Sandler’s movie Blended you will know just how beautiful Sun City is.

With one day planned to explore the place where  the sun shines ever so brightly we got up early and headed to the North West province.  We spent the day in the water playing and swimming in the Valley of Waves, Tower of Courage and riding the  various tube slides.

Food is not allowed in the Valley of waves  they confiscated the snacks we had packed. So make sure you have money to spend for your food otherwise you will starve.

Also carry sunscreen (you will need it) this is the place where the sun shines ever so brightly  after all.  You might want to get there early as the places with umbrellas  get full quick, alternatively carry you own.   There is so much on offer one day was certainly not enough.

I had an amazing time and completed a goal while facing a fear of heights. I’m surprised that I’m still afraid of heights, thought to be honest the Tower of Courage is truly a test of courage. I look forward to more shot left adventures.
