Giveaway: FreshBreathKit from Sunstar GUM

February is  National Fresh Breath Month as we learned last year check out this post. This year I received another #FreshBreathkit and after having a gum infection and failed wisdom tooth extraction earlier this year I was harshly reminded  of the importance of a good oral hygiene routine. I’ve decided to give away to one lucky reader a kit valued at just over R 400

Here’s a video of my oral routine, please watch it there’s clues for the giveaway

Below is a list of what you can expect to win

  • Tooth brush Sunstar GUM Technique+ toothbrush (R 62) – designed to provide advanced cleaning, even below the gumline. The non-slip quad grips are positioned so that the bristles are effortlessly placed at the 45 degree angle recommended for optimal below-the-gumline cleaning. The Dome Trim® bristles are clinically proven to clean below the gumline reducing plaque, gingival inflammation and bleeding. The extended SuperTip eliminates plaque from hard to reach places.
  • Tongue Cleaner Sunstar GUM Tongue Cleaner ( R56) – effectively helps remove plaque and food debris from the surface of the tongue. The two sides provide a dual action – bristles to gently brush and a serrated edge to wipe the surface clean.
  • Interdental brush GUM Trav-Lers ( R 101) Tiny interdental brushes, ideal for normal teeth, big gaps and around crowns, bridges, implants or orthodontics.

I have a fear of bad breath!!! I obviously brush my teeth twice a day, and I chew sugar free gum in between eating and after having something like tea or coffee. I use mouth wash before I go to bed as well, however, at times I often forget and this is an area I plan to improve on. I’m petrified of the dentist and so I hope to do everything possible to keep my oral hygiene in tip top order 🙂

Brushing my teeth twice a day in the morning and at night before I sleep.
Cleaning between the teeth with floss especially after eating
And trying to avoid sugary foods and drinks

Mine is just simple. I just brush with a toothbrush. I don’t have a tongue cleaner and I didn’t know about all these other steps.

    Thanks for sharing.

I’ve always had good strong teeth according to my dentist and never had oral hygiene issues but when my son started experiencing issues with his teeth and landed in theatre extracting 3 teeth and getting se filled I had to be strict with his oral hygiene habbits
    1. We brush our teeth twice a day with a toothpaste that contains fluoride. It’s fun for him and the kiddies mouthwash makes it more fun as it’s flavoured
    2. Eating a balanced meal also helps. Mommy made him believe veggies will give him strong teeth. It was not nice when they removed his milk teeth and he will do anything to get them back lol
    3. I have also introduced my now 5year old to flossing and he loves doing it
    4. Taught him to rinse hos mouth after eating especially when he’s at school and I can’t brush his teeth

    • Nice to see that you’re teaching your son good habits. Have your wisdom teeth come in yet?

I brush twice a day and always have floss and carry the “toothpicks” with bristles from White Glo in my bag. I use mouth wash but the taste overall make me want to gag 🙈I replace my toothbrush every 3 month and carry sugar-free gum with me especially when interacting with other people. I don’t smile a lot but it’s because of the type of person I am 😂 I generally do brush my tongue but don’t have a tongue cleaner, the automatic floss lol really interesting as I tend to struggle to reach the spaces in-between my teeth at the back 🙈

    • Yah mouthwash doesn’t always taste great, but it’s a good to have.

  7. I brush my teeth twice a day , floss and change my toothbrush every few months

  8. I am obsessed with oral hygiene and fresh breath – it’s something I am very aware of as someone with the most sensitive nose on the planet. My oral hygiene routine is extensive.

First thing in the morning I brush, floss and use mouthwash before training.
Once I get home from the gym, I mouthwash again – because BCAAs can make your breath smell.
I ensure that I’ve got something for fresh breath after meals and drink lot of water during the day so that there isn’t unnecessary acid build up in my mouth.

Before bed, I brush my teeth, floss and mouthwash again.

We replace toothbrushes every 2 months .

  9. Over the years I neglected my teeth, had no dental routine, just brushing my teeth once a day in the morning. Then as an adult i just added in a night brush too so I was now brushing my teeth twice a day. I did so much damage to my teeth as a child because I used to suck my thumb, so not only were they dirty but they were skew as well. I hated my teeth and decided at very late age of 30 that i’ll make a change to whats happening in my mouth.
All i wanted was braces so after a visit to an Orthodontist for braces, she suspected i had gum disease as well and refused to put braces in a mouth that was infected. I was then referred to a Periodontist who ran a few tests on me and concluded that i have Periodontitis, a gum infection that damages gums and can destroy the jawbone and can lead to tooth loss. From that day, i’ve completely changed how i look after my teeth. I go for professional cleaning at a dentist once a month, each session takes about 1 and a half hours. I floss every day. I brush twice a day. I changed my toothbrush, i changed my tooth paste. I will unfortunately lose one or two teeth because f the Periodiontitis but my new routine is helping and changing my life.
Soon I will have healthy gums and will be cleared for braces
