Live Well, Live Bold

Event: PopUpGym Maslow

On Women’s Day the Popup Gym ladies invited me to yet another session of  exhilarating workouts and healthy breakfast at The Maslow Hotel in Sandton.

The program for the day was different from the PopUpGym Silverstar that I attended in March. We started with Zumba with Popup gym team member Koketso Mokoka. KK as Koketso is better known did not let the sound glitches dampen his session. His music selection was fun and his routines were fairly easy to follow along.

Fun Zumba class

The first speaker was Miss South Africa 2nd princess Boipelo Mabe this wasn’t the first time I’ve heard her speak. She shared on her fitness journey and her struggles with body confidence. A topic most women can relate to.

Workout two was Kickboxing with Robo and Ryan from EFC Kickboxing. I love kickboxing and had so much fun with this class. Of course I could hardly keep up and Robo was aggressive but it was the right kind of aggression. I swear i could actually feels my 6 pack forming.

Of course there were amazing giveaways from Fitbits to fragrances and the big one a shopping experience at Adidas Popup gym’s main partner. I thought my winning streak was with me when they called out Samantha but the last name was not mine.

What I loved

Letshego Zulu shared about her experience on summiting Mt Kilimanjaro without holding back, it must have been difficult for her but she knew it would be an inspiring moment.

Key moments in her speech

We all have a mountain to climb as women.

She is a finisher and a promise keeper. She promised her husband to return and finish what they started in 2016. This really touched me, as my goal for 2017 is to commit to finishing what I started.

Sometimes being slow is an advantage, it’s what the guide instructs climbers to do as they summit this great African mountain.

Stop to appreciate the things in your life.

The program being different makes attending these events worth your time, it wasn’t just an opportunity to exercise but to learn more

#PopUpGymMaslow is where its at this Women's Day morning. Happy Women's Day!!! @popupgym @adidasza

There was a great turnout and high energy considering it was early morning in winter on a public holiday no less.

The relationship Khethiwe and Letshego have, they are a dynamic duo and their love for each other is very visible. It filters through to their passion for fitness and sharing it with others.

Free body assessment- they had my previous assessment on the system and I was able to see my progress. Sadly it’s clear I’ve been slacking. I gained fat and lost muscle and weight.

I also got to meet Wellness Vloggers Christina and Mariska check their vlog of the day here.

Product Review: BlendidSA DIY smoothie packs

I love smoothies but I don’t make them as much as would like to. This is where Blendid comes in they offered to send me some of their DIY pre-frozen smoothie packs in celebration of my winning a nutribullet from Nature’s Frozen Garden, how could I resist. I’ve been following them for a while now and their products look amazing and are perfect for a (lazy girl) procrastinator like me.
